Explaining what's worth explaining

------------ From The Desk of Brian Rodriguez>------------

As I'm waiting for my tea to finish boiling I'd thought I'd take this time to follow up on my promise of explaining certain changes we're making to TBF. Now I shall explain everything that's worth... explaining...

TBF Site:

So I've finally gotten around to start putting up videos and pictures and as such certain "Soundboards" will now have exclusive pics to go along with them. Can't really say which ones will have 'em, so I guess you'll have to check the TBF site everytime I post a "Soundboard."

Brian's Song:

Now that we can post videos, "Brian's Song" will continue on it's normal Wednesday slot but will become now a Blogspot exclusive, as we will be now showing music videos instead of posting lyrics. As before, anyone from the staff to random people can submit entries. I believe that music is an influential force to unite people and will continue to showcase great tunes to people from across the globe.

New Staff:

So all summer people started wondering if I was tired or done with TBF after I put out word that I was looking for more people. TO CLARIFY: I AM NOT TIRED OF TBF, IN FACT QUITE THE OPPOSITE. I just reached a point where I realized that I couldn't go it alone anymore and I admitted it. Last time I checked it takes a big man to admit such a thing and guess what... me=big man (I even have the apology note from Great America saying that I don't fit on their rides to back that up!)

So yes, I've currently hired a third (Angel) and am still in the process of acquiring a fourth. But in no way does that mean that I'm tired of writing. I'm working on new ideas for new columns that can utilize and showcase their talents.

Everyone will have a more hands on role this year: from Marie to whomever we hire, to Angel to myself... we're gonna be busy this time around.

"101207"

Call it a riddle.. if you know how to look at it right, you'll have what you need to know...

Now my tea is ready and it's time for me to go...

So Until Next Time,
-B

Soundboard II- 08/16/07

I gather that after the last few posts that there may be some confusion as to what it all means...

If I honestly had the answers to that... I wouldn't be here anymore.

ANYTHING TO EVERYTHING... ALL IN TIME.

"'Tis said that courage is common, but the immense esteem in which it is held proves it to be rare. Animal resistance, the instinct of the male animal when cornered, is no doubt common; but the pure article, courage with eyes, courage with conduct,
self-possession at the cannon's mouth, cheerfulness in lonely adherence to the right, is the endowment of elevated characters."

Editor's Note: "Touring in Truckee"

So here's my vacation story.

Thursday I went to a "cabin" in Truckee with 12 other college students/slackers/gamers/ravers. (I use the word "cabin" facetiously because it's a vacation house with satellite TV, DSL, and a dishwasher which do not mesh with my operative definition of the term "cabin".)

I had a lot of fun. There was Wii Sports, 6-player Starcraft games, and tons of liver-killing drinking (Seriously! Jolt cola and vodka at 10 in the morning?! Sounds lethal, and if I didn't see Bob walking and (sorta) talking it would be #1 on my Methods of the "Accidental" Poisoning of My Enemies list.); none of which I participated in. (What can I say- I guess I'm kinda a party pooper.) I did end up joining in on some various games of Munchkin, Flux, and Apples to Apples, as well as a long match of Othello (I won). Did some hiking and swimming too.

So that should tell you what a bunch of geeks we all are. If you aren't convinced then I could tell you about all the Megaman, Mario, Star Ocean 2, and anime references we made over the long weekend. ("I feel like Ashton right now." LOLOMGROFL!!1)
[Brian: (straight face).......wow........]

Because of my (relative) proximity to Vegas, I was able to help out Brian with the Japanese businessman. ("You accidentally fell into a fuck-pile of teenage boys, Sakamoto-san? Daijobou?" *clickclick*) (Thanks, by the way, to Mark, Geo, Kyle, and Paulie. You guys rock!)
[Brian: I forgot that you can speak a little Japanese.]

Thus, the Factor is saved from foreign takeovers and outsourcing for another year. Until Brian forgets about his unfortunate tendency of losing when he gambles next summer.
[Brian: It was only ONE TIME!!! Besides, if you think that's bad, wait til I hit New York...]
